Why Rugby?

Isn’t Rugby Dangerous?

The Facts About Rugby, And Its History

IS RUGBY SAFE?

Rugby is a contact sport. As such, there will always be a risk of injury. However, with USA Rugby-certified coaches, proper rugby tackling techniques will be taught, which is much different than American Football. Contact to the head is strictly discouraged, as well as dangerous play.

No tackling is to be done during practice unless a certified coach is supervising.

The rate of injuries tends to be in less than football and hockey and more in line with soccer.

Rugby is different from football because it involves significantly more endurance, and because of the type of gameplay, tackling like a football player is neither advantageous nor encouraged because of the risk of injury and the disruption to the game’s flow. Rugby is about possession and moving cleanly toward the opponent’s in-goal (endzone).
